day #365 - the end of an era

I thought I was on top of it; I had finished early and was looking for a movie to watch already 3 hours ago. And I don't know how time went by. A phonecall, some networking studying, some online shopping and here we are, already past the time for an early movie. Regardless, today is a special day. The blog is over! I finished 365 days of daily painting and recording it, whatever that means. A big part of the process I will have to keep doing mainly for myself. Perhaps taking daily photos of my work and saving it on some folder. This has provem useful many times when I trying to date a piece I've been working on. Also making a small diary of today's achievements. It's still useful. But this will be done for my eyes only. I also don't know if I will be continuing my obsessively daily painting. How would life be if I had days off? Now for example that I'm moving out and I have to daily chores that until now were completely taken care of, perhaps I'll allow my

day #63 - more more more practice

Now I'm starting to worry. Am I going to be perpetually stuck in sketching body postures? It's good in the sense that I'm practicing, but where is all the creativity gone to? I tried doing some automatic drawing sessions but it's getting more and more difficult. Then again, I'm avoiding going out, it's too warm during daytime; and not going out deprives me of interesting visual stimulation.

Anyway, let's take the good, and leave the ugly on the table.

Once again, I did a set of 30sec gestures and after that a longer session of 3min posture studies. I did quite a few out of boxes, though I'm not sure this is the best thing to do. Anyway; I'm once again satisfied with my overall improvement. It's getting easier and easier to discern details. I went on to do a few hands, and then a few athletes and models on the catwalk; slowing youtube down to 25% and trying to capture the motion while in motion.

Finally, out of the two sheets the first one in more interesting. A strange landscape (perhaps a salt-desert?), with holes and is it a mountain in the horizon? I like the composition and the perspective... And finally on the last sheet some silhouette drawings of Garnet (from Steven Universe). Or at least that's what the hair reminds me of. I liked how I'd draw it from different angles.

I hope I start doing something creative too, and not waste my life practicing for ...
