day #365 - the end of an era

I thought I was on top of it; I had finished early and was looking for a movie to watch already 3 hours ago. And I don't know how time went by. A phonecall, some networking studying, some online shopping and here we are, already past the time for an early movie. Regardless, today is a special day. The blog is over! I finished 365 days of daily painting and recording it, whatever that means. A big part of the process I will have to keep doing mainly for myself. Perhaps taking daily photos of my work and saving it on some folder. This has provem useful many times when I trying to date a piece I've been working on. Also making a small diary of today's achievements. It's still useful. But this will be done for my eyes only. I also don't know if I will be continuing my obsessively daily painting. How would life be if I had days off? Now for example that I'm moving out and I have to daily chores that until now were completely taken care of, perhaps I'll allow my

day #301 - Demogorgon

Today I resumed working the Buddha only to find that I'm not in the mood at all. So I put it aside, and started a new piece. Unfortunately (or at least it feels so) it quickly turned into a beast coming out of castle/cave and from a fine arts piece turned into pulp fiction art. Still, this is a blog where I'm building the positive narrative of my work (or at least, that too), so let's see what I can get:
For a start, I love the palette! Particularly the light from ouside the cross-shaped window is beautiful! Also, this is a piece that I did on white paper, and seeing all these beautiful palettes I was coming up lately on colored paper, I was starting to doubt myself and think that the paper did it for me. Good to know the power lies in me.
I also like the composition. It's a bit crowded and chaotic, but it's cute - there is a swirliness to it! For some reason I like the spikey tree at the foreground and the horns on the back of the beast. Other than that I'm looking forward to how it's going to turn out and I find it an opportunity to try ew techniques! Plus, extra bravo to myself for not working on the Buddha, since I didn't feel like it, and putting it aside.

Yesterday I forgot to celebrate my 300th post. Think of that, 300 days that I didn't skip a beat, that's quite a feat. Welldone to myself.
