day #365 - the end of an era

I thought I was on top of it; I had finished early and was looking for a movie to watch already 3 hours ago. And I don't know how time went by. A phonecall, some networking studying, some online shopping and here we are, already past the time for an early movie. Regardless, today is a special day. The blog is over! I finished 365 days of daily painting and recording it, whatever that means. A big part of the process I will have to keep doing mainly for myself. How would life be if I had days off? Now for example that I'm moving out and I have to daily chores that until now were completely taken care of, perhaps I'll allow my

day #229 - New beginnings!

Today has been a beautiful (but tiresome) day! I finally started a new pastel piece. Not only that, I spent some time trying to feel (using my hands) the differences between various canson-like papers, and realized that the ones I had been using thus far, had a very pronounced texture that I haded on my pastels, whereas the genuine canson colorline/mi-teintes had a very gaussian/white-noise texture that was perfect for me! As soon as I put my pastels on it, it felt like a revelation! I guess one has to suffer to appreciate the good stuff in life!
In any case, the piece was an explosion of inspiration! I have probably finished the piece since it's too spontaneous to even dare retouch it at a later time, but it gave me something to look forward to!
Overall a good day for my art.
