day #365 - the end of an era

I thought I was on top of it; I had finished early and was looking for a movie to watch already 3 hours ago. And I don't know how time went by. A phonecall, some networking studying, some online shopping and here we are, already past the time for an early movie. Regardless, today is a special day. The blog is over! I finished 365 days of daily painting and recording it, whatever that means. A big part of the process I will have to keep doing mainly for myself. How would life be if I had days off? Now for example that I'm moving out and I have to daily chores that until now were completely taken care of, perhaps I'll allow my

day #247 - Futura

These days I keep painting very late. At least today, I did some serious work (though had I the time, I'd keep hammering at it). This is a continuation of ink mixing with watercolors. I first did some watercolors, left it dry, adden ink, left it dry, added more watercolors, left it dry, did some lifting (wow! I hadn't tried it thus far, I turns almost completely white on this canson Monteval 270gr paper!) and then added some more watercolors. Perhaps a hairdrier would had sped up the process; instead I let it on my iMac's overheating ventilation to dry. In any case, I like the forms that appeared in the haze of the watercolors, and how the ink transformed them afterwards. I hope next time I'll have the chance to further integrate the ink and watercolors and lower the separation. Anyway, good day! Time for bed.
